Fellowship Trained Vascular & Endovascular Surgeon.Dr Almond was born in Panama City, Florida. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Florida, majoring in Material Science and Engineering in 1996 (minor in chemistry), and earned his PhD in 2002. In 2004, Dr. Almond graduated from the University of Florida College of Medicine. He completed his residency in General Surgery at the University of Michigan in 2004. Dr. Almond recently completed his Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Fellowship at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He is a member of the Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society, Society of Vascular Surgery, American College of Surgeons and the American Medical Association.
Dr Almond has state of the art training in minimally invasive treatments for vascular disease including carotid artery stenting, stenting for the treatment of aortic aneurysms, and angioplasty of peripheral arteries. His special interests involve all aspects of vascular and endovascular therapies.
Dr. Almond will begin private practice with Bay Surgical Specialists on August 1, 2011 and is accepting new patients. He resides in St. Petersburg with his wife and daughter.
